FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 9, 2026) – Bowman Gray Stadium’s first round of racing after the July 4th weekend break will be a slam packed night of action. The second Double Points Night of 2026 will be headlined with a 100-lap race for the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Division. Saturday will also feature the Skid Race returning to The Madhouse, as well as the Special Forces Association making a parachute drop into the stadium. All four championship battles are very much up for grabs between many stout competitors in each division. Near dead-heats for three of the four points battles could look very different after Saturday.

This week Bowman Gray Stadium’s lineup will include: 20 laps for the QRC HVAC & Refrigeration Street Stocks and one or two 15-lap features for the Q104.1 Stadium Stock Division depending on car count. The Brad’s Golf Cars Modifieds will host another marathon race hitting the century mark with the Traffic Control Safety Services 100, as well as two 20-lap dashes for the Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman division. Rounding out Saturday’s schedule will also be a five-lap Skid Race.

Championship battle lines remain very fluid in all four divisions. Modifieds’ top dog Burt Myers finished fifth in their most recent race and still holds a two-point edge over longtime rival Tim Brown. Brown will be gunning for his 150th pole position this week as well. Modifieds will also feature the Fans’ Challenge, now up to $6,000 in prize money if any of the top four qualifiers choose to start in the rear and race up to a top four finish. One of the mainstays of this prize money is Chris Fleming, who will be racing against his two sons Luke and Jordan in addition to his brother Frank, in a first-of-its-kind Fleming foursome on track.

Sportsman contenders are currently only two points apart, with Billy Gregg leading Justin Taylor in their standings.

Street Stocks remain the biggest margin for any current title battle at Bowman Gray Stadium, as Brad Lewis leads Connor Keaton by 32 markers. Lewis’ No. 16 will be going for a fourth victory on the season and third in the last four starts on Saturday.

Stadium Stocks’ championship battle is still wide open as well. Chuck Wall and Stephen Sanders both enter week 12 tied, with Brad Micalowski only 10 points back. Wall’s rise in the standings has been fueled by winning the past Double Points Night and scoring six top-five finishes to date in 2026.

Weekly racing kicks off Saturday with the first green flag set for 8 p.m. ET. Parking is always free, with adult tickets $15 children tickets ages 6-11 are $2, and children 5 and under get in for free. Gates open at 6 p.m. Advance tickets are available now at www.bowmangrayracing.com.
