Zack Ore and Nate Gregg Split Sportsman Wins, Chuck Wall and Josh Hege Take Stadium Stock Features, Brad Lewis Victorious Again in Street Stock Race!

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 10, 2026) – Saturday’s rescheduled Red Oak $2 Ladies Night saw top-shelf action from Bowman Gray Stadium. The headlining 100-lap Modified race saw past Stadium mainstay Jonathan ‘Jon Boy’ Brown return the No. 22 to victory lane. Sportsman saw close contact too, with title hopefuls Zack Ore and Nate Gregg taking these wins. Veteran Chuck Wall and newcomer Josh Hege each also picked up a Stadium Stock checkered flag. Lastly to close out Saturday’s show, Brad Lewis continued his lights-out 2026 campaign in Street Stocks with yet another victory. The longest running weekly racetrack in all of NASCAR saw a Saturday show filled with action and drama, as the 2026 season begins to roar towards its finish line.
The fifth and final 100-lap night for the Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Division saw enough drama to fill a book. Lap 75 featured contact into turn one that ended with points leaders Burt Myers and Tim Brown tangling. The next restart saw Jonathan Brown’s No. 22 take command, fresh off his Crown Vic win here three weeks ago. The past stadium ace held on for his 26th career Modified triumph. Thanks to Tim Brown (no relation) finishing second, Myers’ championship lead is cut down to 10 points. Jonathan Brown’s No. 22 was paying homage to his racing mentor, longtime Bowman Gray Stadium driver and car owner Melvin “Puddin'” Swisher, who is amid a health battle at 90 years old.
“I’m gonna tell you what, I think Puddin’ Swisher took the wheel there for the last 10 laps,” Brown said. “This win is for him. That man has done so much for me in my racing career, along with a lot of other people’s, but he gave me my first shot in a Modified. Man, this win is for him. We got the boots on the car, we got S&R, we got the Roadrunner. I hate to win it like that, whatever went on there with Tim [Brown] and the 99 [Jordan Fleming], but I was in the grass with four wheels. I had nowhere to go.” Brown’s 26th career Modified triumph leads into a Twin-50 weekend coming up for the Brad’s Golf Cars Modifieds presented by FOX8 WGHP.
The Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman division saw two highlight reel last laps. Race one saw Zack Ore get the upper hand over Tommy Neal, with the No. 55 passing the No. 21 out of turn two and winning a drag race back to the stripe. These two drivers were involved in a few incidents two weeks ago, but kept everything clean this time around.
“I think everyone thought I was going to dump him and destroy his stuff,” Ore said. “I’d rather race him, outrun him and win and beat them like that. That means more to me than tearing the stuff all to pieces.”
Ore started 12th in race two and worked his way up to second after another 20-lap slugfest. Up front, points leaders Justin Taylor and Billy Gregg both took each other out on the last lap. This parted the seas for Nate Gregg to collect his fifth win of the year.
“Unfortunately it don’t matter what [Justin Taylor] does, BGR on top every week,” Gregg said. “Let’s go baby!” After the last lap contact in race two, Billy Gregg now leads Justin Taylor by 15 points heading into another pair of 20-lap Sportsman features next week.
Two more races for the Q104.1 Stadium Stock division saw championship contender Chuck Wall and Josh Hege take both wins. Wall’s No. 81 now has victories across back-to-back weeks with three overall in 2026. The decorated Madhouse veteran now has 41 career triumphs on the famed quarter-mile.
“It couldn’t be sweeter,” Wall said. “This is my youngest grandbaby right now, and we got another one on the way, they’ll be here in about three or four weeks, but this is the first time I’ve won with her here. [Points leader Stephen Sanders] is running good, it’ll be a points fight all the way to the end. We just outdrew them tonight, he’ll probably outdraw me next week, we’ll just try to do the best we can, trying to work traffic.”
Stadium Stock’s B-Main race saw a new name join Bowman Gray’s list of winners. Josh Hege took command at the white flag after the top three all took each other out, winning in only his second-ever start at The Madhouse.
“I can’t believe it man, second time out here, just can’t believe it,” Hege said. “I want to thank my car owners, my wife, for letting me be out here tonight, all the sponsors, and thank you fans!” Wall and championship leader Stephen Sanders are now tied with 612 points apiece. Stadium Stock competitors return next week with one or two 15-lap races based on car count. Stadium Stock’s second race results from week 16 are still unofficial, due to a pending tire inspection.
QRC HVAC & Refrigeration Street Stocks saw Brad Lewis lead wire-to-wire in their time-shortened race. Already the points leader coming into the night, Lewis lengthened his championship stranglehold with his fourth checkered flag of 2026. Lewis was close friends with Robbie Brewer, whose tragic death from a year ago this past weekend was on the minds of many at Bowman Gray Stadium.
“We missed the setup just a little bit,” Lewis said. “The car was a little tight in the center, but I’m not good with a tight car. Restarts aren’t my friend either over here, I think I got a warning, but I didn’t hear it. I marked this race on my calendar, because we lost Robbie Brewer a year ago, and I wanted this one bad. Maybe the nerves played into that a little bit. This is for Robbie.”
“I was like, 70 points in week six last year and I came to within two points, so it’s never over. I’m just gonna try to stay clean and finish this out for my mom. She wanted this championship more than anybody. I say never points race, but we’re points racing right now.” Lewis’ lead now stands at 54 points with two weeks of racing left. Street Stocks will see another 20-lap race on Saturday. Week 16’s Street Stock results are still unofficial with a pending tire inspection.
The FOX8 WGHP Twin-50s will headline Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium in the Modified division. This week’s racing lineup at The Madhouse will feature all three other weekly divisions as well, with each title fight in the homestretch.
