Jordan Fleming also takes maiden Modified victory, Zack Ore sweeps Sportsman Wins, Levi Holt and Jacob Hayes Take Stadium Stock Features, Brad Lewis on Street Stock Title Doorstep
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 17, 2026) – Saturday’s FOX 8 WGHP Twins-50s saw headline-making moments abound at Bowman Gray Stadium. As The Madhouse’s 2026 season now only has one week left, a top crop of drivers all took their turns visiting victory lane. Burt Myers led the way once again in the premier Modified division, setting a new Stadium benchmark with a record-breaking win. The Modified points leader in the No. 1 split the Twin-50s with first-time winner Jordan Fleming. Post-race inspection issues also gave Zack Ore a Sportsman doubleheader sweep, a BGS first not seen in almost a decade.
Stadium Stock’s pair of 15-lap shows also went in favor of Levi Holt and Jacob Hayes. Lastly to close out the night’s show, Brad Lewis continued his lights-out 2026 campaign in Street Stocks with a fifth checkered flag on the year. NASCAR’s most storied and historic weekly racetrack now only has one round left in its 79th season. Big championship trophies are at top of mind for a select few drivers on Saturday.
The rescheduled Brad’s Golf Cars Modified Division’s FOX 8 WGHP Twin-50s saw a few veterans master their craft around the quarter-mile. Burt Myers led wire-to-wire in race one, taking his fifth 2026 victory. This was Madhouse career win number 108 for The Ace (107 Modified, one Sportsman), breaking a tie held with Tim Brown for most all-time combined Bowman Gray Stadium wins. Jordan Fleming rolled off fourth in race two, found the lead early and never relinquished the top spot. Driver No. 99 took his maiden Modified win at The Madhouse.
“We got a great car, but it’s also about how the chips fall,” Myers said. “We were on the pole with the redraw, we earned that but it’s Bowman Gray, you never know what’s gonna happen.”
“First off I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, without Him this wouldn’t be possible,” Fleming said after becoming the 147th different Modified winner. “Thanks as well to Crab Smith, the rest of my sponsors, and my wife who’s here. She’s came to the shop every night with me, every week with my baby boy. I hope he’s watching right now at home.” Myers now tops the Modified title chase by 28 points over Tim Brown, leading into the AgSouth 150 to wrap up their season on Saturday.
The Law Offices of John Barrow Sportsman division saw a repeat winner throw down the gauntlet. Zack Ore’s No. 55 led every lap of race one from the pole, only to redraw a 16th-place starting spot for race two. Title contender Justin Taylor initially took the second Sportsman checkered flag, only to be disqualified from both races, handing this win to Ore. Marking the 55’s eighth and ninth wins of 2026, Ore became the first driver to sweep a Sportsman doubleheader since John Holleman IV on July 25, 2017.
“We’ve been rolling really, really good this year,” Ore said. “I want to thank Justin Taylor, Billy Gregg, all those guys for running me clean there. We had a good car. I knew if we could get out front, we could check out. This car’s been on a rail.”
The above-mentioned Billy Gregg remains in control of the Sportsman title hunt, holding a 36-point gap over his son Nate Gregg. The Sportsman division will end its season with a 40-lap race on Saturday.
Two more races for the Q104.1 Stadium Stock division saw championship longshot Levi Holt and Jacob Hayes take both wins. Holt’s No. 95 took the checkers for its first win of the year, keeping him within shouting distance of the championship. Hayes, meanwhile, took home his first win since June 20, after Andrew Sanders spun trying to block the No. 0.
“I finally got to make it to victory lane, but it didn’t come without controversy again,” Hayes said. “I don’t know what [Sanders] wants to do when he’s got a car low. That’s two weeks in a row he’s got himself wrecked. I got to thank everybody that makes this possible, including my mom and dad. There’s so much dig in this thing, thanks everyone who makes this show go on.” For next week’s finale, Stadium Stock drivers will compete 15 laps with Stephen Sanders holding a 16-point edge over Chuck Wall.
QRC HVAC & Refrigeration Street Stocks saw Brad Lewis lead wire-to-wire once again in another time-shortened race. Already the points leader coming into the night, Lewis lengthened his championship gap with a personal record fifth checkered flag of 2026. In victory lane, Lewis paid tribute to a former driver and Bowman Gray Stadium family member who’s in need right now.
“I just want to say this one’s for Casey Kepley,” Lewis said. “The guy’s fighting for his life right now, and man he’s a good dude. I thank God above, all my sponsors, and all my people.” Lewis enters the last Street Stock 20-lap event of the year with a 78-point cushion over Connor Keaton, chasing his first championship.
Saturday also ended with a five-lap skid race. This last win of the night went to Adam Moore.
The AgSouth 150 will headline championship Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium for the Modified division. This week’s racing lineup at The Madhouse will crown champions in all three other weekly divisions as well, with each title fight up for grabs.
