Cotner and Garrison Take Checkered Before Rainout at Bowman Gray
Rainstorms lead to postponement of events until June 20.
(Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem, NC) Mother Nature had different plans for the Tucson 100 scheduled for Saturday night, June 13. Summer rain storms swept in, causing the postponement of many of tonight’s races.
Two races were able to be completed before the rain came. In the 20-lap race for the 104.1 WTQR Street Stock Series, Matt Cotner of Rural Hall took the checkered. In the first 20-lap race for the Webb Heating & A/C Co. Sportsman Series, Jeff Garrison of Winston-Salem brought home the win.
Next week will be Whelen Night, featuring the Tucson 100. There will be racing for the Sportsman, Street Stock, and Stadium Stock Divisions – and the night will conclude with the always exciting 109 U-Pull-It Chain Race.
Rain checks from June 13 will be honored on June 20.
Ticket gates open at 6:00 for practice. There will be no qualifying session for the Modifieds: the lineup determined on June 13 will stand. The first race starts at 8:00. For more information, visit www.bowmangrayracing.com.
