Rain Postpones Tucson 200 at Bowman Gray
Kenny Bost wins Sportsman race before rain postponement.

Mother Nature had her say at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday, raining out the season-opening Tucson 200 for the Farm Bureau Insurance Modified Series.
The Webb Heating & A/C Co. Sportsman Series was able to complete one race before the rain clouds came, and Kenny Bost had the honor of being the first race winner of 2008. Bost trailed Kyle Edwards for most of the race, but the #18 of Bost was able to bump Edwards out of the way on lap 36 of the scheduled 40 laps. Bost then received the checkered on lap 38 after the race was called due to expiration of the 40-minute time limit.
Rain checks from Saturday will be honored next week, May 3, as WSSU Motorsports presents Opening Night for Bowman Gray Stadium’s 60th Year featuring the Tucson 200. In addition to the Tucson 200 for the Modifieds, there will be races for the Sportsman, Street Stock, and Stadium Stock divisions – and the season’s first Demolition Derby.
Ticket gates open for practice at 6, and the first race is at 8.
